I didn't even think of it when I ordered my new system. I currently have the same copy of windows xp home I've had all along. Do I need to get 64 bit XP professional for my Athlon 64 X2 dual core processor to work? I'd hate to have to have to buy a retail copy.. argh
Thanks

the 32bit version of windows would work just fine.

you do get abit more performance from using 64bit since its not having to emulate 32bit but apart from that no real difference.

if you do decide to go 64bit windows then the thing to bear in mind is driver support for things like sound and gfx cards isnt exactly shit hot atm especially with the ATI stuff. the drivers tend to be buggy and error alot
