Ok i've been planning a PC recently to spend my fat paychecks on (gonna be playing enemy territory:quake wars and supreme commander) and have sorted out all the components i want bar one.

The mouse.

I reckon here is probably one of the bet places to ask for recommendations for a decent gaming mouse since we have a lot of top first person shooter folks. Ideally i'd like wired, but if wireless mice have rechargeable batteries or really good life then i guess i could go for one of those.

Any ideas?

I am considering sticking with my optical mouse from Tiny, just wondered if there were any mice of choice in the Furious crew.

mx-1000 lazer mouse , comes with 2 batterys and its own charger one in the mouse one in the charger(wireless choice)

wired the razer copperhead

boath nice weight with speed adjusters on the mouse itself
tho the razer brand alyways make there mouses to skinny and its a little uncomfortable
i think the mx-1000 has a wired version

I use a Logitech G5 Gaming mouse, its wired but has different sensitivity settings and you can adjust the weight of it using a cartridge and some additional masses.

Yeah i use a logitech MX 1000 laser Mouse. To start off i was a bit put a back by paying £50 for a mouse but i have to say it's excellent. It maybe a little heavy for everyone's taste but i tend to have the sensitivity set very high and the extra weight makes it feel smooth.

The programmable buttons are well positioned and allow you to easily execute commom tasks. (For WOW i have them set to 1-3 on my cast bar and for things like Battlefield i have them set to crouch and prone). Also there very resilient, had mine for about a year now and it's still working 100%. This is impressive given the stick my mice take.

[...]Logitech G5 Gaming mouse[...]

.

Edit: Am alternating between the G5 and the MX1000 atm, depending on if I need more buttons or not.

Still thinking of getting the new G5 with 2 thumbbuttons.

i have both the MX-revolution and the G5, either one is sublime, but i prefer the MX over the G5 for internet browsing because it has both a forward and back button o the side, and its rather convientent

If i decide to upgrade my mouse i reckon it'll definitely be one of the G5s, remember folk mentioning them in pside a while ago. Adjustable ballast sounds cool.

Same here

I have been through many mouses due to the scroll wheel breaking annoys the fuck out of me, when I was playing neocron for instance pvp can be a bit hard if you are trying to scroll up or down one and having it move to the wrong belt slot

i use jaggeh, i just tell him what i want done and he does it
it has an internal power supply which means no wires or charging
it has little sensitivty so i say what i want to it
its reaction speed and accuracy leave a little to be desired
but its overall functionality is great it can be macroed to flip skills in eve for me while im at work or asleep
over all 8.5/10
loss of points cause it goes for toilet breaks and needs food

How the fuck do you break your scroll wheel? It's the most basic of mechanisms so it's quite difficult unless you put too much pressure on it.

Its simple, you use it to much and it wears out and breaks, neocron fucked so many of mouses scroll wheels, I'm not talking about the thing falling apart, it just loses its accurancy, it becomes too loose.
