Although being the winner in the award-category "Best Online Game" at the Games Convention in Leipzig, the AoC Gameplay is not what mmofps fans were hoping for.

To make it short:
Yes, the fights are bloody and the game will be rated 'M' and sold to adults only.
Yes, the entire look is more mature than WoW.
Yes, it seems to be alot more focussed on PvP then WoW currently is.
Yes, Battlekeeps and Clan Combats are ingame and definitly a cool thing.
No, it is not an Action-MMO.
From the original FPS-like concepts for ranged weapons nothing was shown on the GC. Visitors were invited to play a few of the ingame classes such as the Assassin and the Guardian on several PCs. The game was using a third person view, FPS-skills like aiming, strafing, jumping or any kind of advanced movement were not required - All the player had to do was facing the opponent, getting into range and chosing the combos or the direction from where to strike by clicking on the various combo-buttons on the screen.
If you want to see this, check out the links below. The 'feeled gameplay', which you will not experience by watching the videos however was very similar to World of Warcraft's.
The map seemed to be some kind CTF variant. Not that we even bothered to find out, to be really honest. We left the Funcom stand after not only 15 minutes, deeply disappointed by one of our most anticipated games during the last months.
Later on we heard some rumours that appareantly players will be able to have ingame sex, and even receive a buff from it.
Might be a marketing trick, might be true, I'll leave it up to you form an own view on this.
