Looking for an external HDD

I need an external drive to back movies, photos, music, and taking stuff between home and work. I'm looking for reliability over portability. Give me a few opinions or tell me if you've used these.

I ordered and received a 250gb 7200rpm seagate drive. It's working great sofar, I hope it holds out for a while.

Best choice. I got into this thread late obviously. But Seagate External HDD's own all especially if you're moving it around a lot. They have a 5 year warranty (which is really nice). Western Digital external HDD's only come with the 1 year warranty, same with Maxtor. I have a 160gb 2.5" Seagate external HDD that I use for school, the thing is awesome.

I'm liking my external sofar, transfer speed is nice. It's fast enough not to piss me off. I was a little worried about the western digital externals, I read alot of reviews and there were too many people mentioning the drive dying out after a few months. I wanted to pick up one of the 2.5" drives but I wasn't sure. I'll make sure to look into it since it's easier to haul around than my current one. Thanks :)
