Surely you're better off speccing out the components yourself and then building it?

Very easy to do and you'll get a much more personalised machine for the cash you have available... and there's no shortage of technical competence on here so it wouldn't even be a difficult task :)

Just buy the parts and put it together yourself, it's not rocket science.

He's afraid Dell will send some russians to his house to beat him up if he doesnt buy an Alienware pc.

alienwares are just overpriced and overhyped... i had one when the 5800gt was king of graphics cards and the only thing shocking about it was the amount of noise the whole thing made

Were the 2 main ones I browsed when I was shopping for a new PC not so long ago, but then I just got Fridge to build me one, much cheaper than them (about £200 cheaper) and I luvz it xD

I built my own much cheaper, I had a Dell before this one, it was alright but still a pile of shite now I look back on it.

yeah the dell I have here at work is a decent box but is severely let down by the graphics card they decided to stick in it, still granted its a business machine and it still runs quake 4 quite admirably

oem machines are rarely 'the best' you can get for gaming though
