...only a few weeks after release beta-veterans complain about a lack of endgame content and subscriptions are being cancelled. Is the development going into a wrong direction already?

After reading the latest patchnotes (http://www.playtr.com/news/patch_notes_launcher_pts.html) there is definitly some work in progress, however after waiting for so long, these changes - apart from the single, new instance - do neither affect the endgame-content, nor the current PvP situation.
Although the actual process of leveling up chars is made easier and more fun, atfer doing this for the second or third time - like most members of our FA squad did it -, not even the best and most interesting questchains will keep a lvl 50 char motivated for long.

The entire PvP gameplay is actually well made and looks promising - just having clanwars for the sole purpose of having a clanwar is definitly not what any dedicated PvPer is looking for. We want defendable Outposts, more open PVP and rewards for winning clanwars.
As well the entire crafting system needs a serious reshaping. The Troll on Fire-Blog (http://trollonfire.wordpress.com/2008/01/08/tabula-rasa-not-quite-totally-rad-but-not-totally-rotten-either/) summarizes the current situation pretty well:

"There’s no real reason to craft, when everything can be bought. And the crafting system… sweet zombie jesus, what a catastrophe!"

However this quote from one of the latest TR planfiles is what still lets us hope:

Clan Warfare: Clans will gain their own abilities for their members over time, meaning the leader will be able to select a passive buff that all members of the clan will have. This buff will grow in strength the larger the clan. Clans who go to war can wager these buffs and loot in clan wars. Eventually, clans will be able to lay claim to Control Points fighting off rival clans, and earning bonuses while they control them. There will even be AFS sanctioned Rivalry Zones where players have strategic objectives to fight over such as Capture the Flag, and Hold the Location.

I'll check out the changes brought by the upcoming patch when it goes live.
Just hoping for any kind of improval towards keeping ppl busy in endgame.
Otherwise the game will lose most players after reaching lvl50 -_-
