So anyone thats ever read my posts on here knows I love MR2's. I found a '91 in Florida with 56k miles 100% stock 1 owner garage stored so I couldn't resist, dropped mr red with his 210k's in the auto trader (RIP :() and went down to florida earlier this month to pick the new beast up.
I am going to drop about 5k worth of mods into it over the next few months and still keep all the original parts so I can put it back to 100% stock whenever I want. I'll post my progress here, same thing as ill be posting at http://www.ontariomr2club.com/ in case any of you gaming fags are cool like me and like mr2's.
Here's the to-do list, basically in order (will get dirtier as the weather gets warmer):
Audio:
Pioneer DEH-4000UB (Already installed, needed for drive home :)
Infinity REF1300A Amp
Infinity Kappa 50.7cs Speaker System

'91 Fog Light package (maybe)
Driver's side Tom's scoop
17x8 JDM Bl!tz 3piece Rims (Front)
17x9 JDM Bl!tz 3piece Rims (Back)
215/40/17 Toyo Proxis T1R Tires (Front)
245/40/17 Toyo Proxis T1R Tires (Back)

Tom's Airbox replica
BEAMZ V6 LOL (maybe in 2 or 3 years)
Yea so i'll pop my pics up on here in case anyone cares, going to start work on it this weekend. Heres the only 2 pics I have of it right now, in all its stock glory, about an hour north of Jacksonville, FL when I pulled over to pop the T's on:

Haha yeah, I took a flight to Orlando to pick it up, by the team the deal was done it was about 2PM, drove through Daytona and chilled there a bit, then drove up to my buddies place in SC..about 9 hours of driving that day. 4 Days later drove from Greenville SC to the NY/ON border about 90 mins from Toronto, went across the next morning when vehicle exporting had opened up.
Was a good time, definitely lots of driving, but hit ZERO snow which was nice.
so about 5 days to get the car back? coupled with flight costs and motel/hotel costs/petrol/food etc etc
didn't that just make it a very very expensive mr2? surely you can pick one up alot cheaper locally to you or at least within say 100 miles or so.
hell if you can even find them over here any more they're rarely more than about £2k so all your other expenses on top just made it a very expensive car oO

An MR2 with under 100k's in Canada doesn't sell for under $15k, theres 3 in the auto trader right now in canada with roughly 100k's...asking prices are $26,900, $22,888, $19,995. I got mine in Florida for $7300, $9500 over the border. I could sell it right now in a week for $15,000
There's very few MR2's in Northern North America, they hold their value extremely well up here, if I only put about 10,000k's/year on this one I can drive it for 5 years and get all my money out if it, including all the extra crap i'm doing.

The only cars I see there for anywhere near 2k euro are non-turbos or a turbo in garbage condition for 5k euros, and the season isn't even good for them yet
Its a shame your 2k euro number was pulled out of your ass, or i'd go to europe and buy another one LOL

Thats about the same K's as mine, guy wants 7k euros.. thats
7,000.00 EUR
=
11,230.54 CAD
I got mine for $9500 can, imported and licensed in Ontario.
But yo, if you find any MR2's in mint condition with under 100,000k's for 2k euros, let me know and ill take the next flight to come pick it up.
its a good job i work in £ not euro's then isn't it oO

First link all non-turbo's, they aren't worth shit here either.
Don't get me excited like that, you had me thinking I could start importin mr2's from europe and make 5+k CAD a car.
Second list is totally LOL. Half or more automatic, 90%+ non-turbo, the few turbos are 180k+. Theres money to be made on some of them, but sorry hinch theres no 58k mint/stock '91 turbo's in that list :)
It is absolutely insane how many mr2's are for sale there. Last year the most I saw in Ontario for sale at once was about 10, and of them 2 or 3 were turbo, and of those 0 or 1 were under 100k's, and that 1 was generally priced 15k - 25k.
But if you can find a '91 or '93 turbo with under 100k's for 2k euro, buy it and ship it to me, ill license it and sell it, and we'll both walk away with 3-4k CAD for about a week of work.

I edited your search to fit my car. 4 listed.
Of the 4:
1 had an engine swap
1 is non turbo
1 is a wanted ad
1 is an automatic
the automatic red is still worth 8k here. but being right-hand-gay drive and automatic, 8k is pushing it, so really theres no profit there.
i thought in the america's most cars were auto anyway ? :)
there's loads for sale but they're mostly shitters for several reasons
1) weather over here destroys them so finding a mint one is almost impossible
2) the turbo's were rare at best when they were sold over here
3) most boy racers and chav's have owned them and destroyed them
there are those out there that'll match what your looking for but autotrader really isn't the best place to look for such things
still stand by my point though you can buy much better cars than an mr2 for the same money

Ya same shit here, the only exception is mr2's are rare as hell because the only legal gen2 or gen3 MR2's were 1991 and 1993. Two years, thats it. Whereas you guys got them until 1999? And then I assume you have mark3's aswell? Last mr2 sold in Canada was 1993 :(
Every summer I MIGHT see 2 or 3 mr2's on the road. Whereas every second sports car around here is a camaro or corvette.
MR2 prices in the states are about 1/2 to 2/3rds of what they are in Canada so getting a low mileage mint condition stock 1 owner mr2 into Canada for 9500 is an absolutel steal.
You'd be surprised at the ratio of manual:auto in sports cars here, it would be really hard to find an automatic mr2 turbo, and even then it would be really hard to sell because noone would want it.
YOU mr hinch can hate on mr2's all you want, fact is if i want to pay $7300 for a specific apple and you happen to like oranges better thats cool, but I don't like oranges..i like apples :)
we got series 3 mr2's until about 94 perhaps 96 over here then they stopped for a while then we got the new mr2's in 2001 i think though the new ones haven't sold that well at all.

yea i dont like the mark 3's or the mark 1's, mark 1's are too boxed mark 3's are too "new" styled. im really picky when it comes to cars.
so what would you buy as a toy to rip apart and have some fun with as opposed to an mr2?
personally i'd get a classic from the 60's or 70's as a restoration project atm i'm just about finished off with a 1973 MG Midget.
though if i just wanted something more modern to thrash i'd probably get my current car 2.5 v 6 pick one up for about £4k ish of perhaps if i didn't mind putting in some extra cash and alot of handy work probably an RS500 there's quite alot of options depending on what you want to spend or how much effort you want to put in.
for example you could buy a cat x write off lotus exige for about 8k another couple of k to fix it up and you've got a 30k car for sub 10k.
prefer the classics's though. planning on an RV8 next :)
I prefer Celica(T18,20,23) or Supra(MK3+4) tbh o.O
Btw im drivin a Paseo(L5 *96) ;) Good fun car to drive at low costs ^^
Cool buy Zone. You'll have to post update pics every few months.
I've been working 50 hour work weeks and picking up roofing sidejobs all weekend long, putting like 700 bucks each weekend into my "go fast fund". My goal is to import a WRX GC8 or an Evo I. I've checked this place out, and they have the best selection/prices I've seen in Edmonton. I'll pick one up hopefully with under 70k kms on it, for under 10k, imported to Edmonton. Then over the winter I will be going up to the diamond mines to work stupid long 3 week shifts but clear 12k a month. I'll be able to make it pretty quick over the winter I think.
Something like this:

2 guys from the plumbing company I work for, we all shingle together. They just bought a Le Mans last week that they're gutting in 2 weeks and building up as a stock car. I'm not a fan of going around in an oval 300 times, but these guys are wicked with cars, so whatever I can't do myself on my tuner, these guys hopefully can get me through it.
Before I work on the car I plan to take it to
www.racingadventures.com
Haha, it's this place that offers pro racing lessons for 1k (for an 8hour day), in Calgary. You take classroom stuff til noon then you're ripping around in C5 Corvettes the rest of the day. You can bring your own car though, and take the same course for 500 bucks. I want to try and burn up some c5s before I do any work to it, see how it is.
5 mins from my house is the old army base for Edmonton. There's this huge parking lot that they turn into a slalom course all summer long (on the weekends). You just drive in off the street and line up at the laser gate, once you pass it you're timed throughout the course. I've seen everything there from Elises, Camaros, WRXs, and even 2 young kids bringing in their moms taurus, lol. It's mostly to get people doing dumb shit off the streets.
So the plan is: work my cock off, get the car this summer. Tune it up/clean it up throughout the fall and winter. For summer 09 I want to be running high 11s, burning up that local course, and maybe going to Castrol raceway or that Calgary place a few times on weekends. Can't fuckin wait.
Is that Subaru?
Looks like it ^^
nice choice, TOYOTA POWER!, anyway if your willing to spend 5k on it i think you could probably fit a 1jzgte in the engine bay its would be about 3k for the motor and all the parts

whaaaaat a weekend above 10c? wheels/tires/tails goin on over the next 48 hours, and any of the audio i have time to do.
Looking pretty nice, i love MR2's and all things jap. Shame about the prices over there, mega cheap here.
I picked up a 95 integra typer with 46k on the clock for 2000 pounds last year. spent around 1000ish getting it back on the road/Safe but its great. Looking at something else jap but the insurance kills me on most 2ltr turbos +
1.8 @ 195 bhp standard, Vtec power baby!

Yea I met some ladies from the UK a week ago that have only been in Canada for 5 weeks, they were telling me that your gas prices are pretty much double what they are here...thats insane shit. And insurance is killer too?
At least your car prices are good. Cant buy a rare import north of the border for any kind of cheap price, no matter what it is.
Flipped the tires/rims this weekend, decided against the blitz set and went for a jet white set of Advanti Raptor's instead... looks great and drives way better, takes a little more effort to get the back end to come out now

Insurance & Fuel prices here make performance cars a bloody expensive hobby, most of the guys i know use another car for commuting/work.
Pictures looking v.good man, any plans performance wise? I'm a massive fan of veilside kits, sex.
Mate has actually got an 88 model MR2 for sale @ 1.500gbp, kept in a heated garage too! VERY tempted for a summer car. Though im pretty sure its only 1.6 16v :/
