I built a new pc yesterday and receive the error "disk boot failure, insert system disk and press enter"

Ill try to explain as much as possible because Ive did some reading and put my finger on it.

I installed XP onto my sata driver no problem and installed other minor things at the time like gfx software, network card..

The next day I turned my computer on and I got the error ""disk boot failure, insert system disk and press enter" I checked the bios boot system and it had my Hard Drive and DvD rom in sequence, also the bios has picked up my sata hd and sata dvd rom.

I tried different boot sequences but nothing happend, im quite a bios noob so I havent touched anything else (besides using the default settings from the manual)

I decided to pop the windows xp disk in and my computer booted up to my desktop, managed to look around the internet and so on. I then took out my xp disk and rebooted my pc to find the error message "disk boot failure, insert system disk and press enter", so I played around with it and found that when my xp disk is in I can get into my computer otherwise I cant.

Any help?

Any memory sticks you might have plugged in? Mine won't boot if I leave my USB memory stick plugged in by accident.

Did you happen to get a Drivers floppy disk with the motherboard like SATA drivers and disk controller thingy? If so if you have not already, I would reinstall XP and press F6 to install 3rd party raid devices etc when it shows on screen and use that disk. Mine came with a floppy with drivers on it and I can't even get past the winxp installation unless I install those first.

But you could try this first http://www.tech-recipes.com/rx/483/xp_repair_fix_master_boot_record_recovery_console

Some installation disks have a different command for fixing the the master boot record so if that one does not work look around the net for the other commands
