Top post at the moment, or just visit their expansion section. Loads of information from talents to new areas. They also detail some of the achievements which look quite interesting, although they'll only really benefit people that stuck with the same character through all the expansions.

So they've just added screenshots to loads of the tradeskill stuff, and they've got more Primal-esque items in the expansion which probably means more crafted kit that you'll need to farm for to be kitted properly. Great job Blizzard.

Woohoo let the farmfest and price inflation begin .... again

Look at it as an alternative. You can farm for craftable epix, but you can also get slightly weaker epix from heroics&badges, which you can in turn use to raid and get better epix than craftables.

If we get a proper raiding schedule of a few times a week and everyone gets their dungeons done and starter kits ready, we shouldn't even need craftables to raid :)

I'll stick with fishing for money making instead of primal farming anyway. It's one of the best money makers out there ;)

Can't view most websites at work now, so will have to wait til this evening when I get home.

Tbh, i'm not overly concerned with the stuff they are implementing atm, as I don't intend on playing hardcore-styleeeeee as I have previously done (ie 4+ times a week). If it takes me 2 weeks to farm for something that should only take 5 days, then so be it. As for how I will do this, probably fund it through making shit loads of pots/elixirs/flasks - same as always.

Never was one for farming for primals anyway, the whole concept is flawed as the spawn points are always camped! Motes should potentially drop from ALL creatures in outland (with a reduced drop rate) - and not just mainly confined to elementals. This would make it somewhat easier to gather them over time, than having to fight off 5-10 alliance/horde (depending on faction) to get a single one.

It would also help balance the economy. 80g+ for a primal at times was just ridiculous!

Yep. That's why I never bothered farming primals in the first place, spending my time on farming the stuff and spending time fighting for the pulls and waiting for the respawn just seemed too much of a waste of time to me.

There's always gonna be guys who farm primals to sell them on AH as long as people buy them, so unless the prices are absurd, it's more useful to play smart and focus on something that's less frustrating and gives more money, then just buy the stuff you need.

I just hope there'll be sufficient gear from heroics etc to start raiding 10man Naxxramas without craftable gear :>

I think the idea is flawed because the way it should work is that raid kit is the best you can get, and craftables/heroic loot/rep items are there for people that aren't able to raid (be it because of playstyle, ability or time available). The way is stands at the moment is that the latter is required to be able to do the former, which is stupid. Raiding should be about your ability to play your class, not how long you've spent whoring the same spot over and over, or doing the same instances.

The whole Primal idea is taking the "time = character development" idea and putting it to the wrong use entirely. At the start of raiding in TBC, having every caster running around in the same kit was a joke because it got them into guilds when they probably weren't even capable players in the first place, and those that were capable had to get the craftables otherwise they were branded as "slack" and replaced by the kids who skipped school to kit themselves out.

I suppose if craftable gear gave bonuses for things to do with actual farming/general world pve - such as a boost to damage after a successful kill for XX seconds, or increased mana regen after XX secs. It would then get people farming kit to help them there.

Raid kit should have been to help you defeat end-game bosses. Hence the decent stats/abilities.

PvP kit should have been on par with farmed/crafted kit - but with the difference of armour penetration/increased crit chance - and only against humanoids.

They just fucked up the start of TBC with too strong craftable caster sets and I hope they won't do it again. Other than that, I think it's working out pretty well.

Non-combat pets and mounts no longer take up your bank/bag space and are added to the spellbook instead. Now we can have all colours of parrots :>

Enchanting no longer needs a "direct touch", enchanters make scrolls of the enchants and anyone who gets the scroll can enchant their gear. As I'm planning to level enchanting as one of my main professions in WotLK, this is an awesome change imo :)

My new druid has enchanting as its the only proffession I've not got so far in some respect, and I kind of expected them to make that kind of change when they said ages ago they wanted enchanters to have an easier time selling their trade.

It's one of those things I'd expect them to think of when they first created it, but I guess they must bench ideas for "more profitable" ones.

To Grindcore:

Very true, I wasn't even a tailor before TBC. When it got released and when, at lvl 70 it appeared you'd be completely useless as a mage without craftables ... I had no other choice to spend all my time and gold into getting those craftables.

They rock, but I prefer "better" drops from instances rather then craftables. Because tbh, even Tier 5 epics were no better then craftables for mages (in my built atleast).

To Avoch:

I'm sure the enchanters will be happy with this. Now they can make buckets of gold from their profession :D
