View Full Version : After WOTLK ...

Hey,

As you all know, after WOTLK it is possible to do all endgame content in a 10 man formation.

I don't know if it's possible but it'd be nice if we can create a core of 20 members, well balanced and that can perhaps raid 3 nights a week. With 20 members you have a backup for each position.

Just a suggestion ofcourse. I'm not sure if I'll play my mage or my shadowpriest in WOTLK ... depends on the guild I'm in and what is required.

i think the idea is to have 10 people and just do instances as/when all 10 are online :)

Hence why I said 20, because having 10 online at the same time, able to raid, is gonna be hard. So here we have several backups. This also mean that more casual players, such as CtpUK, can also join the team.

But if 10 work, then why not. We can always build from there and grow.

I've decided to stick to my Rogue in the expansion. If I start raiding at all, I want to do it in an active and supportive environment. I think we could do it. 3 nights a week is a minimum, but it should get us to a competitive level. We can get backups and rotate nights, change raiding days to match people's schedules etc. A bit easier to do with a smaller crew.

Let's finish what we started, this time beating the game :>

Yeah, that's my motivation aswell.

I mean, look at our oldschool core ... we got pretty good quality in it on every class this game has to offer ...

We can easily get 10 FA'ers that want to play 3 nights a week. With abit of effort we find 20 (we had that in FA aswell, but that was useless as a raid required 25) ...

We just need to safeguard the balance and then be utterly strict on recruitment. We don't add anyone unless we lack a class, or when the player can really add something to FA.

That way, we can grow steadily and who knows ... one day we could turn again into a guild that can manage 25 man content. But then we didn't have to mass recruit to achieve it.

I'm sure pple like avie and uriel and in favor of such a project, as I've seen both bring up similar ideas etc. So if either of them can lead it then we can make this happen imo.

I'm willing to actively support and promote it as well, being a raid leader or substitute raid leader or something. After all, if we go for 10man raiding, we don't need class leaders. If we expand to 25man, we still don't need class leaders, maybe healing leader, dps leader, tanking leader.

In a setup like 10-20 pple, we don't need any ranking system. Just a guildleader we need. I mean, most FA oldschool is or has been an officer in FA. Even some who never were, like Grinthel, put in alot of efforts into FA.

So we'd all be veteran/officers rank and act like a group of friends rather then a hardcore guild.

Ofcourse, if we grow and it's becoming a succes then we can decide to reconsider and add some ranks to it.

But with 10-20 members, I think having a guildleader and a backup (Avie and Uriel, in whatever order) is more then enough. We know and trust eachother, don't we? :)

P.S. I'll be online tonight, on my main or alt so we can chat abit more about it ingame aswell :D

Yeah, a ranking won't really be needed. We need to have 1, 2, preferably 3 people with very high activity, determination and motivation who will lead the raids and have the final say about what we do, where we go and how we kill though. Good raid leading is a key factor to a successful raid. We need some guys who'll say "okay buddies, thanks for your input, but we'll do this and that now".

i'd be up for that, but 3 times a week MIGHT be too much seeing as I have university planned from October & this building contract running on site until next June.

I have Iceblock, no worries :)

And CtpUK, the plan is to have 20 pple so that FA core, like yourself, who can only play twice a week, can still be part of this. The goal is to do what ... 3 raids a week? Perhaps more if we have the pple online ...

But so far, apart from a few here, not much pple have responded to this yet. I know Uriel won't be playing wow anymore but I'm hoping Avie will and that he will feel motivated to give it one last try.

Only difference this time is that we don't NEED to be a top guild. Meaning, if we can get a 10-man based guild which can read 3 times a week, then it is a success. Especially as we'll be a bunch of friends playing and we all know eachother.

But for this to succeed, we'll need atleast 15 FA'ers who want to go for this.

Since we all need to lvl to 80, it'll be rather easy to balance the classes, as we can take current alts to become mains when WOTLK is released.

Although it sounds good, I have to rain in your parade and say that I doubt even 10 ex-FAers would be around for this. I know for one that Avie isn't too happy with things atm, and a fair few have either given up completely (Uriel, Grinthel) or/ are planning to apply their trade elsewhere (Fridge, Rougen).

Will be interesting to see who is in for this nearer the time. Just need to make sure that it DOESN'T turn out like the last reform.

I'm applying elsewhere aswell atm m8 ... And I'll remain there unless there is indeed nice potential for a succesfull FA reform.

I'm in. Tbh, the most fun I ever had out of FA raiding was karazhan and the immediate following 25-mans when we were still the same people. Time went by and a lot of new faces showed up, some were nice fellows, others were wankers leeching of the rest of us. It wasn't the same anymore.

I think and hope we may progress a bit faster than we did back a year ago :P

If this doesn't make any sense, it's because I'm tired... xD

I would be able to maybe be the sick person that would get a DK...

as for the 10 or twenty person set-up. 10 man = go, 20 man with 1 person not there is 9 times fail...say maybe shooting for 15 or 25 ;-)

The idea of a team of 20 is to ensure that there are atleast 10 pple online to join the raid. If we have 20 pple, it'll already be difficult to have 10 pple online during raids, and this of the needed class setup.

Doesn't help if you reply with:

- I'll see and wait who's returning
- Perhaps
- Depends if you find enough pple

All such answers are plain worthless and do not give us anything to build on. Because all that is happening is pple looking at eachother and nothing happens.

I seriously hope some pple show atleast abit commitment rather then replying like this :)

I gave the answer I gave as I am currently lvling a warrior on an other server, and FA will need a good core of skilled people I like to play with to come back. Its really does all depend on the final line up for me, sorry if its not enough for you kj :/. Besides I wont be able to be one of the core raiders anyway, so counting on me is useless imho.

And ctp, I think this is the 7th time that I have started playing again! :p

@ caras, I will most likely end up heal or tank spec on nikado, depending what the guild needs. Would prefer to play my rogue though...

Nikado, you crazy turkey! If I'm bothering to pay 60 euros to bring my chars back home, you can get you're arse back here aswell! :D

I'm totally for a reform if it happens. I can contribute with a mage, a hunter and a priest.
