06 z06.
The 05 GTOs are pretty sweet, with the LS2s in them. I'm gonna buy a 2008 camaro when i graduate college.
yeah, so unamerican. I'm reading only good opinions about it.
But I do prefer look of big iron cast V8 : /

I prefer '69 models. Like plymouth 'cuda or dodge charger.

i don't like mustangs, rather have a 98-02 trans am tbh. <3
Of course, Hemi.
Handling is of no importance, I'd never drive it faster then 20Mph so everyone can break their necks

im a bigger fan of american cars then imported cars, but i think my next ride is going to be a mazda
http://primary.sg-petch.co.uk/cms/thesite/public/uploads/tblnewcars_lrgimg/1112954392_254.jpg
The MAJOR problem with American cars right now for my taste is they don't appeal to people that really wanna drive. I want a fast v6 thats low to the ground, 2 doors, small, and comes with a 6 speed option. That doesn't exist.
The only really solid american car right now is the chevy cobalt SS. If I was in high school/college right now I would be ALL over that car
http://home.planet.nl/~kooi0774/Chevrolet%20Cobalt%20SS.jpg
Finally chevy has made a compact sports car that really appeals to the younger crowd, cav/sunfire was good but still had the "old person budget car" feel (not so much with the z24/gt, but they looted close to the regular models)
Cobalt SS gets insane mileage, is a 4 banger, but still pops out 200 supercharged horsepower and rides low to the ground. I would be all over it but its not going to be enough of an upgrade from my current ride.
2 years or so and im going to definately be driving a black rx8
problem with the rx8 is that they get shitty mpg, despite their claimed power output they accellerate slow and sluggish have no mid range and their top end is almost non existant.
I love the looks of the rx8 so went out last year for a test drive of the 240bhp model bottom line was... its crap.
the sales person ranted on about how uber it was and how it'd out accelerate my current (2.6 v6 jobbie) so to prove him wrong i asked him to try and catch me down the dual carrige way just up the road from the garage needless to say i was down and back at the garage just as he was starting the return trip.

My rx8 will be stock for about as long as my cav was when i got it...2 weeks maybe? so im not to worried about that, ill mod it to how i want it.
I took one for a test drive earlier this summer and I was completely satisfied with it, 6speed GT model ofc. Didn't seem slow and sluggish in the least.
I also love the look of it. Thats really the main thing that got me interested in the car. Honestly I couldn't drive one of those trendy-standard-import cars like a skyline, or a bmw m3, or any of those cars you see spoiled italian kids driving :P
suppose its slightly different over here since skylines are rare as the proverbial rocking horse shit also you wont find a standard one.
m3's however are everywhere seems every middle class "look at me i'm posh i can drive a bmw" wanker has one even though they're overpriced for under performance (very similar to the rx8 in that respect)
for the cost of the top of the range rx8 (£36k over here) you can buy alot more powerful and better handling car with better fuel economy, reliability, tune ability.

Zoneseek, you thought about an 05 GTO? Pretty much everything you just listed except it's a LS2 v8,
Horsepower 400 hp
Seating 4
MPG** 16/21

lol could only dream of getting that car for that price over here. it works out to be 12 grand with current conversion rates :)

I was definately looking at the GTO's, my old man is oldschool "american only"...hes never owned anything but GM/Dodge vehicles in his life hahha. Hes thinking of getting one, i have two beefs with them..
1. they're boats, i like tiny cars or at least small cars (rx8 i would consider small)
2. the v8 kills me, i dont want a v8...gas prices are too high, insurance is too high
@hinch i agree...the rx8 and the spyder are both overpriced for the power you're getting...but for the style of the car and the comfort, i think they're spot on.
if i was going for nothing but handing/speed for my money, i woulda went for an old MR2 that one of my best friends buddy's was selling for $2,000 cdn. The thing could almost do 11sec 1/4s with what he had in it, could basically go around 90 degree turns doing 100, and was honestly the most insane little asshole of a car you could imagine. Unfortunately it was NOT winder drivable, looked like a heap of shit and had no room for a good stereo system or luggage of any sort. woulda been a fun "toy", but im more into bikes to have as a "toy".

just as a side note, here in north america really all that matters to me in a car is acceleration. handling ofc is great, the better the handling the better the car, but take a look at the city i live in:
http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&q=aurora+ontario+canada&ie=UTF8&z=11&ll=43.789933,-79.463425&spn=0.23842,0.678406&om=1
Thats a grid system. When you're going somewhere, you're driving straight or going around 90 degree corners. How many winding streets can you see on there? Some, but very few.
Every one of those streets, including the 4XX highways, have speed limits that are unfortunately enforced enough that top speed means nothing. My current rides engine cuts if i try and go over 170mph. Yeah, its easy to remove that. Anyone can do it. I never have because...i like my license. Getting booked @ over 170 means big big trouble, so why would i care to ever go that fast. Top speed really means nothing in NA. All about acceleration, and maybe handling but only if you city drive alot. Once you get out of town...its 100% grid.
There's only one viable solution then... move to a normal fucking country!!!
I'd like to have one of those
http://www.dodge.com/gallery/img/charger/enlarge_13.jpg
or that one
http://www.motortrend.com/multimedia/wallpaper/112_0602_dodge_challenger_front_wm.jpg
Although I'd like them with manual shifting and not automatic.
