I'm thinking more and more it will be in (late) october.

With the release of Wrath of the Lich King approaching, we wanted to provide you with some important information. In preparation for the expansion, we will be issuing a new content patch in the coming weeks. Much like the patch made available shortly before The Burning Crusade's release, this content patch is designed to bridge current game content with that of the expansion and will contain some exciting changes and additions.

We have outlined some of the larger features scheduled to release with the patch below:

New class spells and talents
Stormwind Harbor
Barbershops in capital cities
Zeppelin towers outside of Orgrimmar and Tirisfal Glades
Two brand-new Arenas featuring challenging new layouts, terrain hazards, and moving obstacles
Guild calendar
Hunter pet skill revamp
New profession: Inscription

As mentioned above, this is not a comprehensive list, just some of the major highlights. We’ll post the full patch notes as soon as they’re available. Regarding Inscription, please note that all Burning Crusade players will be able to select Inscription as one of their two professions and level up to a skill level of 375 with it. Upon the release of Wrath of the Lich King, players who purchase and install the expansion will be able to continue leveling in Inscription and the other professions beyond 375.

patch will probably hit when WAR is released or so.

Looking at the current state of the beta, I'd say October is a bit too optimistic. A late October release would mean less than 2 more months of beta testing. They still haven't added two areas for testing at all, including Icecrown Glacier (they added Storm Peaks in the last build but it was too unstable to play so they removed it again).

The current build is somewhat stable, but there are lots of random crashes in all areas, so there's many, many bugs to weed out yet. No lvl 80 content has been tested. Current lvl cap is 77. Very little instance testing has been done. Premade lvl 80 chars for testing instances/arena/battleground balance haven't been added yet (not until they get the last 2 areas to a playable condition). Half the achievements are not implemented. Last build added some fishing schools and resources to starter areas, but it's all ground zero in terms of economy otherwise.

But hey, it's Blizzard, they could get it ready but I don't think they will. They might time it just before Christmas or so.

they said its going to be released THIS year so thats at least for sure, only october, november or december then since they also said that its not going to be released in august or september.

They said Q4, so I'd guess November as being the most likely.
