View Full Version : cornish roads > rest of UK
For the brits... just got back from cornwall. If you'd like to actually enjoy driving the UK again, I'd suggest a trip into the far South West.
By far the most fun I've had driving in this country - only counted 3 speed cameras - all on the A30 during my entire time down there.
Take the smaller A or B roads and your in for some of the twistiest, craziest driving terrain I've come across - taking some of the coastal roads beats even Scotland for fun. I rarely got above 3rd gear along most of these stretches.
I was in Scotland at the weekend and managed to find some very interesting roads to drive down! (and up....and down...and up..) Not been down South West so can't compare but it was fun!

I r live in Cornwall so know what you mean. Cornwall has no motorway so the A30 is our "main" road, but its not the best, find the B roads and its twisty and turny and so sweet, take the B roads from Penzance to Lands end and its sweet as.
Best bike ride would be from Bristol to Penzance on just A and B roads, thats some sweet shit, though I ran outta petrol going up hill >.< luckily a station up top.
If you want a top road (though some are shit condition) try the road from the Severn Bridge (old) to Monmouthshire.
Lexx you child molester, go fuck a cow or something, you made the promise never to return to this shithole, please do us a favour and keep your promises walking shitstain.
Nothing compares to Siberian ones.

btw, ignore the description, it's completly false, just enjoy the pictures.
I've lived down thataway for my whole life and have never been to Cornwall, despite it being just a county (admittedly a bloody big county) away.
There's just no reason to. Everyone I've met from there have both warned me away and been a pretty bloody effective anti-advert themself. Call me an armchair racist but I've heard the stories - I know the sorts of things that go on down there. 'Lo Lexx.
Why would anyone want to get above third gear?! There are loads of fields and livestock to take in.
As for the speed cameras, there are a fair few in Devon/Dorset, just some of them aren't active... if in doubt you usually just chuck a brick on the accelerator so you can concentrate on the steering.
