G15 Keyboard

Right, i have the originial version of the Logitech G15 gaming keyboard. I took it apart to paint the silver part, and repair my multimedia keys.

When putting it together, i found that my LCD screen no longer works, and i realised there is a small tear in the brown ribbon cable.

Now i'll get to my point. Does ANYONE have a broken g15 keyboard with a WORKING LCD module. I can't find any of the original keyboards on ebay and Logitech dont seem to replace individual parts. I am pretty sure it is just because of the LCD Ribbon cable but i can replace the board if anyone has a working one.

I am willing to pay £££! Just has to have a working LCD module.

you can buy just teh ribon cables you need from somewhere like RS or Maplin both sell them either you can strip the standard connectors down and put in a new cable or you can also buy replacement connector there downside is it'll cost about £5 for the parts

Oh 5 quid is fine, aslong as it works. The strip of plastic on the connecter, that keeps the ribbon in, how ever is broken off. It still slides in and keeps it in place, but i dont know how efficient it is

What do i search? Would it be LCD Ribbon connector or something like that?

just a search on ribbon cable should turn it up or go into store take the old cable and connector and say "i want this give me the bits"

i prefer the version 2 it has less G keys and is less messy. version 1 had too many g keys to find them easily with your pinky, version 2 solves that but also has shitbag media controls.

good thing my gaming box doesn't need media controls.

I went in for something, and couldn't find it, there were no guys around I eventually chased one down and asked for some help, ignorant cunt rolled his eyes as if I was bothering him from doing fuck all. He wasnt at all interested. Wankers. :p

See throw the g15 in the bin and buy a new one... Thats how it works with keyboards.
