tbh I'm going to wait a while longer until the next GFX card and CPU are released then buy everything top-spec. Not like I need it anyway, I just don't wanna fall behind.

good luck with that, your going to be waiting your whole life because there's always something better around the corner that you will make you wait longer :D

btw, Cannings, why paying extra for shortened MTBF of hdd and getting just a window in exchange?

well i was going to go with the 10k raptors but their seek time is higher than the ones i selected i sent for drives with the lowest seek time i could find with most cache and NCQ

Quinn

NCQ is good only for server. No matter how multitasking you are, on workstation NCQ always hurts performance.
(With exception of some Maxtors which have so shitty drivers that they barely work without NCQ)

all my pc's double as servers also running web servers and various test bits of software at the same time as i'm using them so it needs to handle both but after reading some tomshardware reviews the 8ms ncq baraccuda's are better than the 10k raptors for data access
