Do you text type when sending a phone text message?
Only reason 'cause as you know I'm selling my car and some lady text me asking when she could come and view it.
When i got the message it was in text type a little like this
"alr8, it martha jst wunderd wd i b abl 2 cum c ur car 2mz" :huh:
Took me about 5 minutes to decypher it, and then when I did, I wasn't sure if I even wanted to sell it to such a person.
Then once I told her yes , and where to come to I got...
" K Prb set of rnd dinna tym, guv u a rng wen on way X " :huh:
No matter how much of a rush I'm in when i Text message people I just can't bring myself to Txt type, I think it's really retarded and now I really don't want to sell my car to such a "txt typer!" haha :mellow:

Indeed, then again i've used phones with a keyboard for ages, with the introduction of the T9 dictionary it isn't necessary too.. But some people tend to think its cool or something.

I never text type, be it in a text, email or some form of IM. I've only ever done it when writing a message on behalf of someone that does, because it requires more effort for me to write like that than it does to write properly.
If you've got other interest in your car, then you can be selective. If not, just sell it to the lazy messager and I'm sure you'll get over it in a few days, lol.

always use proper english full words its actually quicker than text speak with the phones dictionary on anyway.

Its normally people who think the internet is full of nerds and so they think typing like that is the norm or its cool or something. I've seen them typing like that on MSN even though they have a keyboard infront of them. You have to show them how to use MSN and setup a facebook account... There must be a name for this group of idiots, you know the sort that think facebook or myspace IS the internet.

How the hell can something as functional as that be geeky, if you have decent hsdpa/3g/umts/whateva broadband on the phone it's usefull for both working on casually tru a vpn when not in the office or entertainment like msn/irc/fora.

I got an iphone and I love it so much, before the iphone I had a treo 700w, it was nice but I never used it for anything other than phone calls and texting. With my iphone on the other hand, I browse the net, use it for phone calls, texting, I have dozens of apps installed, I use the calendar on it, for listening to music, I have the aol radio station app and listen to local radio stations while at work, I play games when bored, I use it for directions using the gps and google maps, I started to use the google app now that it has voice searching I just say what I want to search for and it searchs automatically, it does everything!!! If I was a girl, i'd probably even use it as a sex toy with the vibration function!!
I do hate typing on it though, that's one thing they need to find a way to improve!!! Once they do that, OMG!!!

Text typing is just lazy really, and just shows the level of effort someone is willing to put in to communicate with you.

I love my iPhone too, if only they made it so whenever you had the keyboard up you could turn it on its side for a larger one, then it'd be easier to type on it.
Yah you can do that in the txting app now, with a mod, and also disable the horrid autocorrection... Seriously the onscreen keyboard of the iphone is amazingly good! :D
