View Full Version : BMW's are tough cars ...

I had an accident yesterday. Was standing still in a traffic jam, and the car behind me didn't see it and drove into me at 60-70 kph, without braking.
The other car was a Toyota Yaris.
Aside from the hard blow and the stiffness I currently have, there was nobody hurt. His car however, was a complete waste, while mine only had minor damage at the back of the car.
I must say, it's a scary view to see a car approach in your rear mirrors and realise there is no way on earth he'll manage to stop in time ...
But to get to the point, I'm surprised how little dmg I had :)

Tough? Surely?
Yes thankyou, but you got my point.
I did yes, you hit a big german cruiser with a badly made japanese car and made a thread about how little damage it caused to your car. :)
You got pics?

Erm, I was standing still in a traffic jam, and the Japanese car ran into me. Do you actually read?
I have no pictures of the accident. I could make one of my car, but that'd make little sence as it hardly has any damage.
And I don't know if you realise what a hit of 60-70kph actually means ... that's infact quite hard and police said we were lucky nobody got hurt ...
Hence why I'm surprised, and happy, that the car I drive is a tough one :)
No need to be sarcastic in every reply you make towards me, Pixel :)
I'm not being sarcastic, I've been in some 'fast' accidents and walked away with them with no damage to me and little damage to my car as well. I once skidded on ice and hit a car that pulled out of a junction (it was his fault, he pulled out without looking and I put on the brakes) and didn't really get any damage at all.
I'm surprised that at 60-70km/h the airbags didn't go off in both cars though...

I released my break on impact, which makes the impact less. Don't think he had an airbag. His car however was a total loss.
It's funny how fast it happened. Afterwards I was like, ohh but I could have changed lanes in those 2 split seconds. But at that time, you just don't think like that at all :(
Oh yeah crashes do happen real fast, and I bet you were well hyped up afterwards as well... huge adrenaline rush. Clever thinking with releasing the brake... that would have reduced the impact damage quite significantly

Well, it not only helps the impact damage, it also helps against injuries. Only drawback, is that you get projected into the car before you. But luckily he was 3m from me so I didn't hit him, also as I pressed the brakes right after impact.

Was it a woman?
It was a very old man, from 1928. I had to fill in his side of the papers aswell as he was too shocked to do it.
What BMW? it makes some difference if it was a 121 or a 750...

Well, put it this way ... if I was unlucky and it was a truck hitting me, I probably wouldn't have been able to post here anymore.
I guess that's the small difference between being lucky or having bad luck ... :(
I'll hit you with my Hummer next time!
you have a crx, dont even pretend its a hummer

I'll take one from the car and then one from the damage specifically. But don't be surprised by how little dmg there is :)
Also plz do ignore all the dirt on the outside :D
You're a man, ofc your car is dirty :p
Pls to not compare your CRX with his BMW :)

Just cause it has fake M badges on it? :(
Mine barely even has interior trim.
But the lights in the cabin are those LED circuit board ones!
Youre a girl, so ofc your car is slow and overpriced :P

I am not about to turn KJ's thread into me flaming you within an inch of your life. :)
KJ post pics of this 'damage' :p
Thermodynamic inertia keeps me safe from mere flames.
Its the rapidly oxidizing flames that I need to be careful with.
If I had the money, I would like to have a BMW, along with my sil, for late night fun.
A 330 maybe. The thing about cars like that is that they do not randomly break and are built tough as a brick shit house. You get in, drive and get out. no need to worry about if its too hot outside to run X amount of boost or having to dump octane booster in your tank all the time and wonder if your piggy-back ecu is *actually* working.
Or if its road legal.
Because ofc it fucking is!

It doesn't have an M badge as it's not an M series, and I'm not the type that wants to pretend to drive in an M3 while it's not :)
