As per Hinch's thread regarding upgrading vB and potentially fixing plugins, there appears to be a mixed opinion on the reappearance of the shoutbox. Simple thread, vote yes if you want the shoutbox back, vote no if you don't.

2 of the 3 people that voted no don't even really use the general section on this forum. That's like asking someone's opinion on a game that they don't even play,,,

essentially though (if my memory serves me correct) the shoutbox sits at the top of the page and all users can see it?

therefore regardless of whether they post in the general section they will still see what's going on in it...

You were able to hide the shoutbox, which is what most users that didn't use it, did:closedeye

Fair 'nuff

it's still hinch's choice at the end of the day :p

The shoutbox is not bad, and in general, is a good enhancement to the site, as long as lil t stays out of it.

Yes but essentially detracts from actually making posts, which since the forum isn't all that active at the moment would be counter productive until activity increases...

Yes, but a shoutbox allows for random talking about stuff that's not worth making a thread/post for.

Both methods have merit I agree

I vote Yes, i miss the old shoutbox.. 'twas a nice place to chat with the other idiots on this forum (yes, pete/crazy/lil t/nb, thats you) without making pointless 400-post threads, the kind that has started to fill up most general sections of this forum.

I would love to see it back. Helps pass time at work even more.

hinch should add it either way, and the people that voted no, should not be allowed to use it:closedeye

It's only fair, people that voted no apparently don't like it, and tried to stop from getting it added back by voting no, so really, no reason for them to use it.

Yes Pete I agree.
