Ok, so while we're in a recession it's prime time to buy a new motor...'cept I can't decide what to go for. I'm looking to spend about £30k GBP, insurance isn't a concern (company insurance ftw).
So far I'm considering:
'78 Aston V8 GT
TVR Tuscan
Audi A5 Quattro
Vauxhall Monaro VXR
but I'm open to any suggestions. Been asking around all over the place and I just can't make my mind up so I thought I'd give here a chance lol. Gotta be available in left hand drive, no way I could take an old mustang or charger round London, I'd get mullered. Practicality isn't really a problem either 'coz I'm gunna keep my old Cosworth Merc and/or my Landy.
The monaro is a sweet car, but it doesnt have a lot of track or drag potential as is from the factory. Ive driven a monaro since they are like cockroaches in australia I figured I would learn something about my competition and the import guys are really chewing up the monaros in drag, drift and track.
Ide say the TVR Tuscan, although if you like to tinker with cars I think a TVR would be a huge money sink, as I havent really heard of many mod parts for them being around.
The Audi and the Aston GT I have no idea about.
Isnt the charger already left hand drive? Gear shift on the right?

Forgot I even posted this...
Ok, so forget all that, it's between a Ferrari 550M, 360, or an Aston V8 Vantage...while there's this depression I thought fuck it, might as well spend big, not gunna have this kinda chance to own these kinda cars for a long time when the economy picks up...
Vamps all for the 550, buuuuuuuut, I could own a fucking Aston, and I fucking love Astons...but that means borrowing a little extra...The TVR's still kinda in the picture, and I found an Alpha RZ for the right kinda money, amazing car, but I think that'd be a really bad money sink...and only people who know motors would recognise the brilliance lol

I don't mind tinkering with cars, I've got a Grenada Mk1 Fastback and a Defender for that, this car's gunna be my main car. And yeah, the Charger is left hand, it's why I said I won't have one :p
550 or V8 vantage, id go for the Vantage as it looks like an absolute stunner, is new, and attracts sophisticated people more than SLUTTY MONEY HUNGRY WHORES.
:)
vantage without a hesitation
the burbly big slow v8 just sounds gorgeous unlike the horse which is over tuned and whilst performs shit hot just doesn't give you the thrill of opening up the vantage.
i also prefer the vantage on track.

Not gunna go near a track with it probably, maybe once or twice...but yeah, fuck it, I'm gunna go for the vantage...
I just hope it won't look like I've sold out and ruin my street cred
Buy it already!!!! FA Stickers all over it!!
Why no DB9 btw?
I support the FA stickers all over it suggestion :)
Yea, it can say "Furious Angels :: Failers Anonymous" since that's what the guild has turned into lately:biggrin:
hahahaha i swear that'd be hilarious, I FAIL AT WOW SO I BOUGHT AN ASTON!!!
the failers anonymous actually stems from our steam/l4d/tf2 nights nothing to do with the wow guys :)
360... But do the Aston tbh!
My question is... If you can afford cars like this, why the fuck do you doss about on this forum all day?
nothing to do with the wow guys :)
LOL have you never met kj?

None really in my price-range, besides, I think I prefer the Vantage to the DB9 anyway...You can't have a DB9 anymore, because one day someone's gunna pull up next to you in a DBS lol

I don't doss around on here all day! I'm on here maybe a couple of hours when I get in from work, and maybe a bit before I go. Alot of my days off are in the week too, when no other tosser can be bothered to do anything. And truth be told I can't really afford it, I'm borrowing a serious chunk of money off of my boss. You're not going to get better prices on things like cars/houses etc, than you are now, ever, really, not unless there's another depression in the next 10 years, so I thought fuck it, go all out :p
you'll be one happy fucker with a aston under your arse!
So you agree that he's a failure?
Take it as you wish!

Then would you not be better off getting a house? Instead of spending all that money on a car, at the end of the day your going to get bored of a car and want to get another. Didn't you say you had a Range Rover or something? You've obviously got bored of that.
Buy a cheaper car and get on the property ladder.
IGNORE THE WENCH!! BUY BUY BUY!

To buy a house round here I'd still need a mortgage, and at the moment no one in their right mind is going to give a 22 year old a mortgage with only a 30-40 grand deposit. If it was viable, sure, I'd buy a house, but the only way I could do that would be to move away from London, and get a right dump I'd have to pour money into to get it habitable.
Oh and nah, not got a Range Rover, I've got an old Land Rover Defender 90. Not bored of that, it's my baby lol, bought her for 300 quid, welded her up, got her sprayed, raised, decent tyres. Use it to tow and go off-roading all the time. I'm bored of my Cossie Merc, but there's no way I can sell that because I'd only get like 50% of what it's worth, the price of them shot up just after Top Gear did a piece on them (and the Corrado VR6) as "future classics", but I bought mine just before. Should have sold it then but I didn't, once the economy picks up I'll probably get a mint for it and pay off like half of what I'm borrowing for this one, not to mention Aston's don't really depreciate in the long run...It's an investment if anything
unless you crash it:P
The aston is probably the way to go too. I dont really know about cars like these since im the kind of person who would buy a 6000 dollar import and spend 70,000 in parts.
But no matter how much you spend on a 6000 dollar car, youll never get it in the same league as a vantage.
I dont think youll be able to tinker with it, maybe stuff like a highflow cat and other random simple things. I Know I wouldnt dare to go beyond that.

Fuck that. Yeah, I'm just gunna leave it stock, keep the resell value (once the economy picks up atleast). Only tinkering I'm gunna be doing is maybe new tyres, and with the Radio/GPS lol
Fucking with a V8 vantage would be like having an absolute supermodel for a girlfriend then saying she needs to get a nosejob done.
Think of the potential though.
Like skylines, silvias, hondas, subarus etc etc
Aston martins have to meet EPA regs and dB regs and all this other useless crap which costs you horsepower.
I bet they come pretty restricted (not saying they dont have power, they probably have a lot more of it bottled up than say some 2 liter import.
True, you could prolly get it upto 450 horses with some ecu tuning and a nonrestrictive cat converter. Althou it might be pretty optimal to begin with. Within emission ofcourse.

We don't have any regulations in the UK in regards to the power and speed, only the emissions, only reason all the Beamers, Mercs, Audis etc are restricted is because they don't take them off when they ship them over from Germany.
hinch, now mkVenner - this is forum for rich ppl !

I'm not rich, I make about 32grand a year, and I work my fucking bollocks off for that lol, and I'm borrowing about half the money anyway :p
Being rich isn't about how much you earn, it's about how cool toys you can afford :P
And I make like 12k, in pounds, lol :)
Yeah but you can buy cheap ex-German cars with broken locks :p

Well as I'm not up the city permanently I don't get inner London weighting on top, which boosts your salary/wages up a fair bit, but yeah, it's nothing special for round here, I earn a little more for my age than the average I think, but not much.
