I was at the auto show last weekend, and ive always been into supporting the "local" economy aka buying american. So I checked out chevy, which is the only make I really like.
They got a pretty wild new little budget winter beater that is cheap as hell, and apparently fast as hell. The '09 cobalt SS isn't 205hp supercharged anymore...its 260hp turbo now. 260hp turbo is pretty fucking insane for a 2ltr 4banger thats easy on gas, fwd and good in the winter, and only costs a bit over 20k us. And it comes with their new 5 year 160km warranty.
I am due for a new winter beater come 2010, and I was leaning heavily toward getting a 2004 or 2005 350z, but this little guy has kinda changed my mind..for the same price i could buy brand new, get a better warranty, fwd so its easy in the snow, and still have some decent performance.

It looks like shit but its a performer for the price.
8:22. Eight minutes and twenty-two freakin' seconds. That number, friends, is the time it takes Chevrolet's new Cobalt SS to run one full lap of Germany's esteemed Nurburgring Nordschlieffe. That's seriously fast. The original Godzilla, the R32 Skyline GT-R, takes the same amount of time to run the 'Ring, as does the E46 M3. For further reference, that time is also six seconds faster than a 993 Porsche 911 and 16 seconds faster than a Honda NSX. As we said, the new Cobalt SS is seriously fast.
So maybe ill go american again for the year round car.
