For those of you who don't know, I'm doing crash repair in my spare time.

Well good work either way, only work I've ever done on cars is inside them (removing door panels, electronics, sound deadening etc)

You painting it yourself or getting somebody else to do it?

Friends going to paint it, will make me a few grand for my Jolly Hols. :)

I bought it for £400, front end damage and roof where it rolled.
Airbags havn't gone off or seatbelts though haha! Love to see the driver, because there was blood all over the windscreen.

Ouch... how is the chassis though? No twists or bends?

Yeah a few, got that done on the first day though so nothing major.

Wow that's rediculously cheap if the engine is still running.

Well the shell was pretty much beaten to shit, so it's cheap yeah.
Welding work on that rear quarter is neat as hell, if I do say so myself!:p

Always been into doing cars, but my boyfriend taught me.
His dad too, I started helping them out and now I can pretty much do anything on a shell. Except neater, because I'm female. :)

Nice. Looks good, I've never repaired a car after a big crash and doubt that it would look that good afterwards.

But I've been doing most of the tech stuff on my cars and enjoy it, except if I need to crawl under the car and do the exhaust pipe. Next time I let them do that at a garage.
I usually do the brakes, electric, did the cambelt once(or what it's called in English), dampers once etc. I've been driving old cars first and there was enough to do to keep them running.

( I liked to disassemble stuff since my early childhood, much to the anger of my father, because it took some years until I finally also became interested in reassembling stuff. :p )

yeah i prefer playing with electrics over welding :p

Because it was cheap, parts are easy to get hold of... and it will sell well.
I'm hardly going to buy something which I'm going to spend more on parts than I'll actually be selling it for am I.

The man of my cousin did the same in his spare time.

He was working as a mechanic, but also bought relatively new cars after they had a crash, repaired and sold them. That seemed to work quite well, since those relatively new cars were really cheap with a serious damage and sold well, after they were back in a state, where there was no visual difference to a regular car of that age.

Very nice work, just a shame it wasn't a V6, you'd make a packet lol

Any yeah, for some reason the couple of birds I've taught how to weld have picked it up really easily...Arc & Mig atleast, not so much Oxy/Acytaline and Tig :s, maybe it's the using 2 hands at once thing lol

My original post of "Nice work Clur! I don't know crap about cars" must of been too off topic. Sooo repost.
