FA.AoC Builds Something Pretty! |
|

It's about time we had some news from FA.AoC, and what better than the expansion of our guild city to support two functionally redundant buildings? What I mean is, at present Funcom haven't added in any of the NPCs or buffs that a player city has, so its only purpose is to look pretty for three tiers before unlocking the ability to build a battle keep.
We've actually had our keep up for at least a week now, but I thought it'd be better to report in once I could actually take a decent screenshot of what we've built. For those curious, I'm running on max settings with all shadows enabled, which is why the picture probably looks a lot better than what you've seen from others. I don't actually play with shadows on buildings though, as it makes playing difficult if there's lots going on.
We've actually got the resources to build all of the first tier of buildings, all of the towers and all of the gates. We are only restricted by cash flow, as you don't really get much before L55 really, and we aren't that many resources behind being able to build everything, but we'll get there eventually.
A higher resolution version can be found here: http://www.furious-angels.com/imageh...2deab5a549.png
EDIT: We've now also got our Barracks, Library and Theives' Guild built too.
EDIT2: Weapon and Armoursmith Workshops went up today.
EDIT3: Alchemist's Workshop added, only one more building to go before we can start putting walls up!
EDIT4: Architect's Workshop built, along with our first gate and two towers.

Even more Gross Incompetence from SOE |
|

A true story...
OK so this isn't really an FA news or division related post but more of a whine/rant from me. I just felt that this level of incompetence from an international company required some publicity.
Lured back to planetside by the free time and the server merge I've been playing it on an off for the last month and abit.
Yesterday my free time expired so I attempted to sign up for a months subscription. Usually a trivial issue and taking less than a minute to complete.
However in the time since I last paid for a SOE game they have seen fit to update their Station account management pages for extra "security" by adding in a secret question. Fairly straight forward and standard on most sites these days with one exception.
My account is so old that I don't have a question set and the dropdown list on the page is blank due to a bug in their system and so not displaying the options and not allowing me to set a question.
I quickly fill in a support ticket asking them to set a question for me or resolve the bug so I can give them some money.
Now at this point your probably thinking nice and simple any company would be happy to take some money off someone.
Not so in SOE's case in fact they really really really DON'T want my money.
They've asked me to confirm several details of my account which I have multiple times now and still they claim they are unable to make changes to my account as I cannot supply them with the correct credit card details as used on their system.
Now here's the really funny part.
When you log into the station page it stores payment details and so a quick check confirms they have stored my debit card details NOT my credit card details. Having confirmed my debit card details with them they also claim these details are incorrect and don't match whats on their system. This is after I've logged in and confirmed they ARE correct and DO match whats on they're system.
It's currently at the stage I've actually had to send them scan's of my cards and even my drivers license to confirm who I am even though ofc I've already confirmed all the details once for them and they're infact emailing me on my hinch[@]furious-angels.com email address which ofc nobody but me has access to and has infact been my email address for near on 10 years now.
Am I the only one spotting the issues here? or are they really that fucking obvious to everyone else apart from SOE.
Right and here's the icing on the cake to really really make this amusing.
I walked into my bank 3 days ago handed over my cash card and told them to give me £20k. Which they did in less than 10 minutes. With no proof of ID no passport, no drivers license, no nothing just me, my cash card and a signature.
Yet I can't even get a company to let me GIVE them £8 a month for a fucking online game that tbh makes less money for SOE a year than I probably spend on cars a year.

PS: Servermerge finally a success? |

The two US Planetside-servers Emerald and Markov have been merged. The new Server: Gemini finally puts the "Massive" back into the only remaining MMOFPS on the market.
After years of bad gameplay additions, horrible patches and bad decisions SOE finally seems to have done something right. Ok, some outfit-tags are displayed wrong, weird bugs appear, the ping/lag issue got slighty worse and the last fanpage with working daily stats got closed because of the merge, but at least we have some action again.
In case you played Planetside in the past, now might be the right time to check out the game again. The server is full, we have fights and poplocks all day long, new faces everywhere and the zerg is completly out of control.
Let's hope - for the game's sake - that this will last a bit. Happy farming!

AoC: FA Server Choice |
|

Launch of a new FA-Squad: The FA.AOC Guild moves to Fury!
After Funcom finally decided to release the server names for Age of Conan, we have chosen that we will be establishing Furious Angels on the EU PvP server Fury. There are already 33 guilds listed to be joining this server, and I am going to assume many more will join too.
If you are considering playing AoC in the EU, you should join us! We are going to be PvP centric, however we might dabble in a bit of casual raiding to get a feel for the entire game, as well as promoting working in a group. Our overall goal is to hold a battlekeep and not lose it, so we'll be working hard towards that from the get go (I've got to get to L40 as fast as possible, for example).
So pop into our application forum for AoC, and if you express an interest in playing alongside us then there's a good chance you'll be flying under our banner! You can bring your friends too
See you on the battlefield!
