Started work on another track, wanted it to be tech trance originally but seems to have slipped, maybe if I add some more percussion it might seem a bit more techy. Got the first lead made just trying to tweak the sound so it fits right then I'll need to make the main lead, you know the one that comes in with the breakdown just before the release part ^^

not like the first track at all.

2nd track is quite good though there's something off about it I just can't tell what though I can at least listen to the 2nd track in the background multiple times and it all be ok.

Putting it together now...

Though I think I need to work on that progression a little, I want to create more tension and then have it kind of drop into a very meldolic sound ^_^

Not a fan of recycling stuff, I absolutely hate having to use a loop already made by someone, I have nothing against people that do use them but I just can't bring my self to using someone else's shit. I'm a must be original person and prefer to struggle a little with my own creations, I like to learn the hard way and not be yet another dickhead who remixes fucking basshunter and then uploads it to get massive views on youtube...

But that said I kind of see and hear where you're coming from, so its good criticism and I'll try and make things sound more natural by using more sample based sounds like pianos and stuff. As for vocals bleh I suck with them and don't want to even go there until I can at least make some decent tune without them, otherwise I'd only produce shit fails trying...

3 years I've been learning not a long time :) FL is shite tbh when I get the cash I'm gonna get my self cubase, I've been playing with a cracked copy and I like it, its just way harder but the sound omg the sound is much better like damn...

More machine music....

I used more sampled shit in this than I ever done, the pads one of leads or 2 over them but they follow the same riff and its using nexus a sample based vst... This track is imo pure fail the whole thing stinks and noisy but I did just notice that after buying new head phones and so glad I did...

Music production is not easy, don't care what anyone says, I'd love to be able to play a guitar etc. But this shit is hard, you have to know SOOO much stuff but that is why I like it. I'm out growing FL studio and have looked at ableton and saw that shit on free access watching the videos and such, the sound quality is amazing compared with fruity. I'm even looking at studying music because it is all I want to do... I started with no musical backroundand have had to learn everything myself without any hardware what so ever.

Once I start work first thing is midi keyboard...

The potential in creating music is massive but with out the right tools you can't, a basic midi keyboard with a low latency is essential. Which out one you're guessing the notes almost which fruity studio you can use your computers keyboard but the notes are thrown all over the place it is not good at all. But you get a full octave starting from C5 with the Q key all white/major keys So you can use a scale that is used in most dance music but it just isn't good.

I'm much more capable making music when I just improvise with notes but that's hard work with just a simulated keyboard... I also now love lives approach to making music, its more like the old fashioned way, well it is truely awesome. You can make shit on the fly and keep making shit on the fly till you have all the elements of the track then record in real time the whole track and manual edit it to finish it off. Little hard to describe but think of making tracks all in one session instead of crating just bass then percussion then pads then leads, its more as one whole session which is why I must have it along with the hardware created just for that program...

hahaha yes being stoned makes things sound awesome, the last track is all right I guess though it still has some cheesyness imo, I'm very critical of anything I make...

I worked out how to setup sweeps correctly though which is good because that = a lot of what I had missing. Overall after listening again its too damn repetitive something I always have a problem with.

I've been trying out many bass variations instead of the normal straight forward offbeat, some chorus and sometimes reverb, thinking a little out the box and using the delay on the chorus kind of gives a doubling effect which can sound nice. Just have to remove a lot of the other crap so it don't phase the bass too much, ah and the ocassional note put a higher octave then the rest of them. Then a sub bass using a basic sine on a lower octave doing the normal offbeat bass, I read a lot that its what makes the floor move and the building shake so I'll use that where I can.

Started working on this one 3 days ago *cough* maybe a little more...

Half done, still need to add some FX and sweeps and sort that horrible percussion out its toooo high and tinny and make some more melody's that will work with the other 2.

Like this somehow overall. Melodies, synthesizer sound etc.
I'm still a bit unsure about the timing of those 3 kicks (?) e.g. at 00:41, not sure if it sounds really 'fluent', no idea, how to put it in words. It's like my ears expect a little bit different timing and when I hear it I think something is odd. But the more often I hear it, the less I stumble over it, so maybe it's also me. Maybe a matter of getting used to that beat. I've never done anything like that, so no idea.

Nevertheless it sounds quite cool.

Oh those 3 kicks as you put it that's a drum fill but that was rushed and is only a place holder so I can keep check of phrases 8 bar - 16 bar so i don't go insane and lose track of what should come next etc. That would take me about 5 minutes to fix, its really just a 1 bar pattern with a little kick fill that's used to break the repetitiveness and to introduce other parts.

Only uploading this because a RL friend said I should, they liked it I guess...

Old track that was never finished and sounded horrid that's until I gave it some love, I made new basslines 3 in total, cleaned up a lot of crap and deleted the original song Arrangement. It was my intention to use FL studios live feature to record the track arrangement live and this is the result, I accidental deleted one of my hat lines in the process, excuse is DRUNK FUCK OFF...

/edit I can of coarse load the old version and save the score of the missing highhats and import that but really can't be fucked...

/edit2 I forgot I stopped recording at around where the breakdown should start, in fact I knew the break down was coming but could not think of anything so just decided to continue for another 8 - 16 bars.

I have also dabbled with Hardtechno since I started and I'm kind of getting a grasp on it, though its the hardest music I ever did try to learn to produce, so much can go wrong particularly with the sound it self. Its a very trashy style and uses dynamics to effect and massive bassdrums with some reverbs and delayed driving percussion.

No one will like this except maybe some techheads

It does have a nice chord melody that kind of reminds me of some tropical beach, though I never intended the melody to actually sound like that when I made it.

So I was bored and tested Livestream.com tonight:

Its fun for Livecasting but for Music Youtube might be better.

Sorry for the horrible Sound Quality I have to adjust my Volume Settings next time!

Anyways Enjoy!

Sorry did not see this sooner, its good matey, I might try and make something a bit harder, liking the hard bass sound, also the short vocoder vocals are very nice.

I made this more recently did not think to post it here since nobody normally gives a toss, now I'm struggling to make anything close to this level.

Lucky draw of the notes me thinks but I'll not be uploading anything more to my youtube channel until I have something as good as or better.

/edit one critique, that clap you have is alright but it seems to either have too big a reverb size or you need to dampen some of the frequencys on the verb, claps are something I can almost never get right myself so I rarely use them. I always mess the reverb up on them but if I'm gonna use them I make a smallish room size no bigger than 50 if using the fruity reverb2 and I add a little predelay so the effect lands on the off beat. Or I go for a really short decay and small room with predelay and with 100% wet and early reflection, which is used on most percussion. But who am I to say what's right since I normally fuck a clap up haha, but if I go for a massive reverb clap, I normally use a kind of white noise type of clap, not really a clap but a spooosh spooosh sound, which I've heard often in some trance music to great effect.

Well something I've been making on and off over the past day.

http://www.mediafire.com/?mh2jzmggnmt

Lot of the sounds are just place holders for now, its not properly mixed or mastered, theres not much in the way of automation yet but its just a start on an idea.

I like the idea of producing techtrance hence the basic name I gave it so that I can find it easy in my projects folder, it is an attempt at techtrance.

I normally get a track done once a month with many shitty ideas inbetween, this would be one of those ideas though I've not determined whether its a one for the junk folder yet...

I'll re upload the video because something has messed up with youtube...

Bleh, thought I may as well upload it even if I need to improve it...

C# minor ftw, can't say i've ever used this scale before, its rather dark sounding.

Every sound used I've created myself in this one, no presets used only the percussion samples are not mine, the video isn't done processing on youtube so the sound quality is still not up to where it should be.

Can't see it as it is a private video, send it to my YouTube profile (xLilDuffx).
